Welcome to Glue Gun's tumblr. Here you'll find all the latest ramblings and occasionally news about the band.

Try Until You Die.

Glue Gun has come to a close. Just about 3 years, a demo, a few EPs, and almost a full length  later. I’ve had a great time that I wouldn’t trade for the world. Thanks to all the bands we played with and the friends we made through this band; The Red Cliche, Word Travels Fast, and Prove Them Wrong to name just a few.
Braeden and I are starting a new project called Star Kid. Some of the old GG style with a lot of changes. Hopefully for the better. Taylor is also still playing and of course I wish him the best of luck too.
Thank you guys so much for the support and all the good times.
If you’re interested in hearing the full length that never was you can download the demo tracks for free from xEASYCOREx. Hope you dig it and keep an eye out for Star Kid.
Love you guys,
Steven

mistakes we never knew we were making

for those few who do follow whats going on in our lives its not new news that we as a band have been thru alot in the last few months, but not just as a band.

there are so many things that could be said about this subject but most of it is just useless to repeat, all that matters now is that from what i can tell things are taking a turn for the better, i think there is finally a light at the end of the tunnnel.

with that being said

let me make this a public apology to my best friend steven who to me is way more than just a bandmate, i truly dropped the ball this past year in the category of being a supposed best friend, i hope that any shit that happened can one day be erased and forgiven.

but for now, it seems that glue gun is back on track, trying to play shows and hopefully make this dream come true.

What can I say other than shows at the Mercantile are always fun. Some of my best memories from high school, especially freshman year, took place there. Awesome times.
September 26th. Great show. First show back after going away for a long time, recording and sorting things out in our personal lives. We literally only had one practice before this show since our last show which was like 6 months ago and this practice took place in the parking lot of the venue.
I hope everyone who came out was digging the new songs. Hopefully “Try Until You Die” will be released to the world very soon. Check out “Late Nights In 209” on our myspace. The acoustic track from the new album.
Get Gnarly,
Steven

Oh and thanks to the bands that played, you guys ruled and thanks to Sarah Burden for taking the picture that I stole and posted here… Sorry!

It has finally happened. We are done tracking. It has been awhile but I can finally say we’re done with all the recording. I’ll pause here for the applause…
Now, a big thank you to Jessica Auville for coming out to the studio last minute and doing some vocals and of course I think we as a country should create a holiday for the awesomeness of our main man Michael Jordan at End Of Trace. Just sayin… Bring it up to your congressman or whatever. I don’t know how these things work.
So when can you hear the new stuff? Well I have no idea. I think we will be posting a rough mix or two from the album on our myspace soon. Don’t know if anyone would be interested to hear it but eh, screw you guys.
Just kidding check it out on myspace soon.
Next is actually making the album art and getting some photos done. Hopefully we’ll be playing in your town sometime soon.

Studio update! Here’s a video of the first two days in studio. We’ve just about finished tracking 8 of 10 songs and I’ve gotta say that the album is coming together fantastically. I think this album is really going to blow away anyone who was a fan of our first EP and “Dear Andrew”.

I’m also looking forward to having the lead singer of Three Thumbs Up coming out to the studio and doing some vocals for us. Get stoked!

Top Studio Quotes Thus Far.

Going to the studio is always interesting and as anyone who has been to a studio recording can tell you: very boring. So to keep ourselves entertained while someone is doing their parts a lot of stupid things are said. Here’s a few thus far.

“It’s always the G-String!”

“That’s how I say yes in drop-d.”

“My insides are now outsides and there’s no morphine!”

“This is the new member of our band: Monstar. He’s currently recovering from a coke adict - tion… addiction!”

“While you guys have you’re glee club, I’m gunna smoke a cigarette.”

“Braeden, you’re gunna have to do that again.” “Actually I can fix that with compression” (Braeden’s voice faint in the distance) “I love compression!!”

“Hows that tickle your beard?!”

6 - 15 - 10

So we go into the studio and start working on our new cd this coming tuesday. Thats 6/15/10. Hence the title. We’ve been having intense practices for a while and the album is sounding amazing. This cd is all about overcoming and moving on after a break up or after your “best friends” bail on you. There really isn’t to much complaining about girls on this cd (sorry all the 15-19 year old guys haha). There’s actually a few love songs on it that we wrote while Braeden and I were still with our girlfriends. They both dumped us at almost the same time but we decided to keep the songs anyway.

Here’s a taste of some of the new lyrics
